How to check your result

Each selected PDF page becomes one complete JPG or PNG, including text, photos and background. This does not extract the original image files embedded in the PDF.

What to check

  • Inspect small text and thin lines at original size. Higher DPI cannot recover detail absent from a blurry scan.
  • Check that all required original pages are present. Save this batch of images or its ZIP before continuing.

Searching text inside images requires a separate OCR step to produce text. This tool does not provide OCR. [1]

Text, lines and photographs

PNG preserves text and diagram edges without lossy compression. JPG can make photographs smaller, but may introduce artifacts around text. The smaller format depends on the actual content.

Choosing a resolution

Start with 96dpi for quick on-screen viewing or 150dpi for general documents. Try 300dpi when you need to inspect small text or need more pixels, then check the result. It cannot restore details missing from a scan.

The PDF cannot be read

Remove passwords first using a tool you are authorized to use. For damaged files, save again from the original app or download a fresh copy. Renaming a file to .pdf does not change its format.

Frequently asked questions

Where are my files processed?

Files are processed in your browser by default. Files above the configured size threshold use server processing after an upload notice. Upload starts only when you press the server conversion button, and a queue may apply.

Can I download many pages?

The browser converts one page at a time. To manage memory, downloads are split into batches of up to 25 pages or about 64MiB. Save each batch before continuing. There is no limit on the number of downloads.

Which resolution should I choose?

Try 96dpi for on-screen viewing or 150dpi for general documents. 300dpi uses more memory. Output is currently capped at 4,096 pixels on the longest edge. A higher resolution cannot restore detail missing from the original.

Can I convert password-protected PDFs?

Remove the PDF password before converting. Keep this tab open and avoid refreshing during conversion.

Does PDF to JPG extract the original photos inside a PDF?

It renders each complete PDF page as one JPG or PNG, including text, photos and backgrounds. It does not extract embedded image files in their original form. JPG and JPEG refer to the same format.

How do I save only selected PDF pages as images?

Enter a range such as 1-3, 5 to save pages 1, 2, 3 and 5 as separate images. To keep selected pages in PDF format, use Split PDF.
